Kathmandu. Commercial banks have increased their investment in the construction sector. According to the data released by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, commercial banks have increased their investment in the construction sector. <\/p>\n
As of mid-April of the current fiscal year, 20 commercial banks have invested Rs 228.79 billion in the construction sector. <\/p>\n
In the previous fiscal year 2081\/82, banks had disbursed loans worth Rs 207.04 billion to the construction sector. Compared to the previous year, banks’ credit in the construction sector increased by 10.51 percent. <\/p>\n
Compared to the previous year, the credit investment of 13 banks in the construction sector increased while seven decreased. As of April this year, Nabil Bank has the highest investment in the construction sector while Machhapuchchhre is ahead in terms of growth rate. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Nabil Bank has disbursed the highest amount of loan to the construction sector with Rs 26.67 billion. The bank had disbursed Rs 25.56 billion in the same period of the previous year. <\/p>\n
Compared to the previous year, the credit flow increased by 4.47 percent. <\/p>\n
