Kathmandu. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved USD 115 billion in concessional loan to upgrade drinking water and sanitation services in municipalities in Nepal. <\/p>\n
The financial support would be implemented through the Integrated Water Supply and Sewerage Management Project. <\/p>\n
According to the ADB, the project will directly benefit more than 850,000 people of 13 districts of Nepal. The project aims to expand access to safe drinking water and help improve sewerage management and sanitation infrastructure. <\/p>\n
The investment is expected to strengthen basic services at the local level, improve public health and support sustainable urban development. The ADB has been continuously investing in the areas of drinking water, infrastructure and urban development as a long-term development partner of the Government of Nepal. <\/p>\n
