Non-banking assets of commercial banks have increased. According to the data released by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the non-banking assets of commercial banks have increased by 18.81 percent in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year 2082\/83. <\/p>\n<p>Non-banking assets worth Rs 46.08 billion have accumulated in 19 commercial banks. However, Standard Chartered Bank does not have any non-banking assets. <\/p>\n<p>In the same period of the last FY, the bank had non-banking assets worth Rs 38.79 billion. Non-banking assets (NPAs) were added by 18.81 percent in the review period compared to the previous year. Compared to the previous year, the non-banking assets of seven commercial banks decreased while 12 increased in the review period. Among the commercial banks, Prime Commercial Bank&#8217;s non-banking assets (NPAs) have increased the most. <\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Global IME Bank, NIC Asia Bank, Nabil Bank, Kumari Bank, Machhapuchchhre Bank, Everest Bank and Rastriya Banijya Bank saw a decrease in non-banking assets. Himalayan Bank Limited (HBL) has the highest number of non-banking assets as of mid-June of the current fiscal year. The bank has accumulated non-banking assets worth Rs 6.23 billion. In the same period of the previous year, the bank had non-banking assets worth Rs 5.31 billion. Such assets have increased by 17.29 percent compared to the previous year. <\/p>\n<p>Global IME Bank has the highest number of non-banking assets in the second position followed by Prime Commercial Bank. Global IME Bank has non-banking assets worth Rs 5.89 billion and Nepal Investment Manga has NPR 4.70 billion in the review period. Compared to the previous year, Global IME Bank&#8217;s assets fell by 0.77 percent while Nepal Investment Mega Bank increased by 47.19 percent. <\/p>\n<p>Nepal Bank has the lowest number of non-banking assets. As of the review period, the bank has non-banking assets worth Rs 23.36 crore.
