Nepal Financial Institutions Employees Association (FIEUN) National Committee organized the &#8216;Empowerment Course for Finance Sector Youth Union Members&#8217; (<strong><\/strong> program at Hotel Tapas, Battisputali in Kathmandu today with the participation of young employees working in banks, insurance and other financial institutions. <\/p>\n<p>The program was organized with the objective of capacity building, leadership development, knowledge related to trade unions and awareness of workers&#8217; rights of young employees working in the financial sector. <\/p>\n<p>The inaugural session of the program was conducted by the Acting Attorney General of the National Committee of FIEUN. The event was presided over by President Parshuram Khanal and NTUC President Yogendra Kumar Kunwar was the chief guest. <\/p>\n<p>UNI Asia &amp; Pacific SF Program &amp; Organizing Coordinator Tilak Jung Khadka was the special guest and NTUC Youth Committee Chairman Dipendra Sunar was the guest of honour. In the inaugural session, the role of young employees in the financial sector, leadership development, contemporary challenges in the workplace and the role of young generation in the protection of labour rights were presented. <\/p>\n<p>Secretary of FIEUN, Youth Committee, Jhankar Rawal gave the welcome speech to the participants of the program. The training and interactive sessions were conducted by experts and resource persons Tilak Jung Khadka, Smita Rana and Advocate Pramis Khanal. During the sessions, information and practical knowledge was imparted to the participants on contemporary issues including youth leadership development, effective communication and motivation, trade union and workers&#8217; rights, legal issues at the workplace, professional development and role of youths in the financial sector. <\/p>\n<p>In the different sessions of the program, the resource persons stressed on the need for young employees to move forward with continuous learning, leadership skills, communication skills and awareness of rights to face the changing financial sector, rapid development of technology and new challenges arising in the workplace. Likewise, active participation of youth employees was necessary to promote dignified work, safe and dignified workplace, collective bargaining, trade union rights and effective social dialogue. <\/p>\n<p>The programme is expected to prepare young employees working in the financial sector for competent, responsible and leadership roles as well as contribute significantly to increase the meaningful participation of youths in the trade union movement in the coming days. <\/p>\n<p>Nepal Financial Institutions Employees Association (NFIA) has been conducting various capacity building and awareness programs for the protection of professional and trade union rights of the financial sector employees, dignified work, social security, gender equality and safe and dignified work environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.\u00a0 A programme on leadership and capacity building of young employees in the financial sector has been completed.
