Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has amended the method of calculating the base rate to be determined by banks and financial institutions. According to the new provision, 90 percent of the total operating expenses of the bank will now have to be included in the base rate calculation. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier, only 85 per cent of the total operating expenses were included in the calculation of base rate. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-37866 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/bankingsansar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Capture1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1056\" height=\"723\" srcset=\"https:\/\/english.bankingsansar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Capture1.jpg 1056w, https:\/\/english.bankingsansar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Capture1-300x205.jpg 300w, https:\/\/english.bankingsansar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Capture1-1024x701.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/english.bankingsansar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Capture1-768x526.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1056px) 100vw, 1056px\" \/> <\/p>\n<p>The remaining 15 percent of the operating expenses were estimated as non-fund operating expenses and would be met from non-fund income. <\/p>\n<p>The central bank has reduced the share of non-fund operating expenses from 15 percent to 10 percent.
