Money from defunct bank accounts will now be brought to the state treasury

Kathmandu. The money in the accounts of non-functioning banks and financial institutions will be brought to the state treasury. KATHMANDU: The government has decided to bring the money deposited in the accounts of banks and financial institutions that have remained dormant for the past 10 years to the state treasury.

The government has made provision through six hundred agendas for governance reform. Under this, the details of such accounts will be collected and the amount not claimed by the heir will be brought to the state treasury after completing the legal process.

The government has set a deadline of 90 days for the effective utilization of idle resources and identification and management of other resources.
