Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Siddhartha Bank has handed over the buildings of the quake-hit schools to the affected schools. With the financial assistance of the bank, the newly constructed building of Shree Janapriya Basic School located at Bhandarban of Sanibheri Rural Municipality-1, Rukum (West) has been handed over.
According to the bank, along with the reconstruction of the school buildings affected by the earthquake, accessible toilets have also been constructed.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the bank’s office bearers, local people’s representatives, school management committee, teachers, parents and students. According to the bank, the new building will help expand students’ access to safe and quality education.
It is also expected to play an important role in strengthening the overall educational environment by facilitating regular teaching-learning.
As a part of its corporate social responsibility, the bank has been implementing various programs in education, health and community development. The bank has pledged to give continuity to such social and community-oriented programs in the days ahead, keeping the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in priority.
