Kathmandu. Wagle, who has served as a senior economist at the World Bank, has also served as the Minister of Economy. Vice-President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) who was elected for a second term from Tanahun Constituency-1, Dr. Swarnim Wagle has been appointed as the Finance Minister.
Rabi Lamichhane, president of Rastriya Samajwadi Party (RSP), had said that Wagle would be made the finance minister before the election. Locals of Tanahun Constituency No. 1 are elated that the lawmaker elected from their constituency has been appointed as the important responsibility of the country.
He was elected for the first time in the by-election held on April 25, 2008 securing 34,911 votes. Dr. Wagle was elected to the House of Representatives for the second time with 38,040 votes.
