Prabhu Bank’s Chief Business Officer Rashmi Pant arrested

Kathmandu. Rashmi Panta, Chief Business Officer of Prabhu Bank, has been arrested. Panta, who is absconding in a banking fraud case, has been arrested.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested him from Tinkune of Kathmandu on Wednesday. Police said that Pant has been arrested for further investigation and the process of extending his remand will be intensified.

Pant has been accused of misappropriating a loan of Rs 480 million issued by the bank.

The loan was taken by Shashidhar Sharma, chairman of Asian Navies Resort, from the bank. Rashmi Panta, chief operating officer of Prabhu Bank, has been arrested and sent to jail by the Supreme Court. However, she was absconding.

Rashmi, who became a corporate officer within five years of joining Prabhu Bank and chief operating officer within seven years, was accused of misappropriating loans to jeopardize people’s investment by making various settings in the bank.TAG_OPEN_div_12
