Kathmandu. Shashidhar Sharma, defendant in the Rs 48 crore loan misappropriation case of Prabhu Bank, has deposed before the investigating officer. During his statement, Sharma has stated that he is the sole proprietor and chairman of Asian Village Resort Pvt. Ltd.
According to Sharma, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, banking transactions and financial decisions. He also said that the company’s bank account was operated with his single signature.
The company initially had a paid-up capital of Rs 25 lakh, which has been increased to Rs 98.95 crore at different times. The main objective of the Asian Village Resort is to build a 151-bedroom, five-star hotel.
The CIB has also recorded statements of six other bankers, including five bankers, who have been booked in connection with the Rs 48 crore fraud case. Dipendra Babu Bista, who works in the marketing department of the bank, along with 6 other bankers, have also given statements in the scam case of Prabhu Bank.
