Kathmandu. The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an interim order against Kumari Bank’s officer Trupti Rana. The apex court issued the order while hearing a writ petition filed by Rana against the bank.
A single bench of Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla issued the interim order in the name of the bank.
What is the case?
Kumari Bank had filed a complaint against Rana for investigation, claiming his involvement in hundi. Police had arrested Rana and started an investigation into the matter. However, the Kathmandu District Court had given Rana clean chit after he did not find any evidence to prove that he had committed hundi.
However, even after being cleared, the bank again took action against the accused for violating the indiscipline. Rana had filed a writ petition at the apex court on August 19, 2083 naming the Board of Directors and the bank’s CEO Ram Chandra Khanal as defendants.
Although the preliminary hearing of the case was scheduled for August 21, 2
008 in a single bench of Justice Kumar Regmi, the case was ‘not maintainable’. The case was adjourned by the petitioner’s lawyer after the bench of Justice Nripa Dhwaj Niraula was scheduled for August 24.
On August 2
2, a single bench of Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla issued a show-cause order hearing the writ petition and ordered not to implement the decision for the time being. Now, after the respondent submits the reasons as per the court order, further hearing and process will proceed on the issues raised in the writ petition ।
