Kathmandu. Global IME Bank Limited has decided to provide assistance to the people affected by the Bhotekoshi floods. The bank has announced to contribute Rs 5 crore to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund for the search, rescue, immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation of the people affected by the severe floods in the Bhotekoshi River.
The bank has announced the support for the loss of lives and physical property due to floods in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan among other areas.
According to the bank, many people have lost their lives due to the floods, many people have disappeared and hundreds of families have been displaced. The floods have also caused major damage to settlements, bridges, roads and hydropower projects, the bank said.
The financial assistance is being provided to support the search for the disappeared, treatment of the injured, food and temporary shelter for the affected people and long-term reconstruction of damaged structures.
The bank has been providing financial, physical and humanitarian assistance in times of disaster as part of its corporate social responsibility. The bank has been providing assistance during disasters such as floods, landslides, inundations, earthquakes and epidemics.
