29 arrested for robbing bank with Rs 9.2 million

Kathmandu. A total of 29 people have been arrested on the charge of robbing bank safe money that was swept away by the floods. A joint team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force arrested them with Rs 92 lakh.

According to the preliminary investigation, the money was withdrawn by breaking the safe of the bank after it was washed away due to the flood.

According to DSP Prakash Dahal, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Dhading, preparations are underway to issue a statement with details about the incident.

Earlier, RSP lawmaker Ashika Tamang had also raised the issue of the bank being swept away by the floods and looting of the money.

Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
