Kathmandu. Rajesh Upadhyaya, Senior Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Bank and Financial Institutions Confederation of Nepal (CBFIN), has been appointed as the Acting President.
The post of chairman of CBFIN has been lying vacant since the resignation of outgoing chairman Prachanda Bahadur Shrestha from the post of chairman of the board of directors of Himalayan Bank. The executive committee meeting of CBFIN held on September 25 unanimously decided to hand over the responsibility of acting chairman to Upadhyay to continue the leadership of the organization until a new executive committee is elected from the upcoming annual general meeting.
Upadhyay, who is also the Chairman of the prestigious Mahalaxmi Development Bank, is known as an experienced businessman, skilled strategist and institutional development campaigner who has been active in the banking, insurance and financial services sector of Nepal for nearly two and a half decades. Since the inception of CBFIN, he has been making significant contributions to the development and strengthening of the organization by holding various responsibilities of the Executive Committee.
His vast experience and expertise in leadership roles at various BFIs, insurance companies and insurance companies are expected to make Cibfin’
s journey more productive ahead.
Under his experienced, coordinated and visionary leadership to address the policy and practical challenges facing the banking sector in the current difficult economic environment, CBFIN is expected to further strengthen its objectives, policy priorities and role and add new dimensions to the stability, credibility and sustainable development of the banking sector.
