Kathmandu. Police have arrested a person for his alleged involvement in hundi business in Sunsari. According to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), Nepal Police Headquarters, Jyoti Shahi of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-23 has been arrested.
According to the police, Shahi has been operating hundi transactions in various banks and financial institutions through a firm registered at the Cottage and Small Industries Office, Itahari.
During the investigation, about Rs 1,000 was found in the accounts of 52 banks and financial institutions including Agriculture Development Bank, Century Commercial Bank, Global IME Bank. According to the police, an amount of Rs 1,03,84,75,845 was transacted.
