‘Banks and financial institutions go to the doorsteps of customers to take loans’

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has raised the issue related to the flow of loans of banks and financial institutions. He said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress.

President Thapa said that a situation has arisen for banks to reach the doorsteps of customers in case of disbursement of loans.

He also pointed out the need to keep the issues related to the daily life and economic condition of the citizens at the center of the political discourse along with the political change.

“Parliament is closed, the party is closed, so the country needs an open forum,” Thapa said. He said that the holding of the Congress general convention at Khula Manch after 10 years was also a symbol of open dialogue and re-establishing relations between the people.

The Khula Manch should be developed not only as a place for political assembly but also as an open forum for questioning, dialogue, disagreement and exchange of ideas, he said.
