KATHMANDU: Nepal Insurance Authority, Koshi Province Office, Biratnagar has organized an insurance discussion and interaction program with the students and teachers of Ratna Secondary School in Rangeli.
The Insurance Authority has been taking the discussion and interaction program to the community level with the expectation that the students are the agents of social transformation and their impact will reach the community level through the parents.
Rajendra Maharjan, chief of Nepal Insurance Authority’s Koshi Province Office, said that the NEA has prioritized such targeted programs in Rangeli to provide insurance as a financial security cover for life and property, not just as a paper agreement.
In the interaction, First Assistant of Insurance Authority, Milan Pokharel, imparted training to the students and teachers on the importance of insurance, necessity and how to avoid financial loss. In the program, information was given about the contribution of insurance sector to the overall financial system of the country, the concept of insurance, types of life and non-life insurance and its utility.
After the interaction program, an open question and answer program related to insurance was also conducted for the students. Where the students actively expressed their queries and dilemmas. According to Maharjan, by giving such practical financial knowledge to the students from the school level, they can become responsible citizens in the future and also motivate the family to adopt financial security measures.
