Kathmandu. Siddhartha Bank has launched the API banking platform ‘Rapid’. The bank has officially launched the platform on the occasion of Nepal Fintech Expo 2026.
‘Rapid’ is a platform based on the concept of Banking as a Service. It helps to connect the systems of banks, fintech companies, and digital service providers through Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
With the integration of the platform into the bank’s system, the corporate customers will not have to go to different systems to avail various banking services.
Through this platform, customers will be able to view the balance of the bank account, download the statement, manage the treasury and automate the transactions from their own software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Customers will be able to link their bank account through the ‘Connect with API Banking’ option. To use the service, the bank has said that once the form is filled in the bank, like in mobile banking, most of the process can be completed online.
The bank says that the platform has also digitized the process of obtaining customer consent. This is expected to make the process of using the service easy and transparent. The bank said that the platform uses end-to-end encryption, multi-level authentication and other security protocols.
