Kathmandu. Lumbini Bikas Bank Limited has provided medical supplies to Namuna Secondary School at Garuda Municipality of Rautahat as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. The Bank’s Garuda branch has handed over the sanitary pad vending and sanitary pad disposal machine to more than 1200 girl students for their health and menstrual hygiene.
The machines were handed over by the bank’s Garuda branch manager Subodh Koirala to school principal Prabhu Raut Patel.
Speaking at the program, Mayor of Garuda Municipality Kanthamani Jaiswal expressed the belief that the face of the municipality would change if various organizations in the society collaborated in this way. He praised the bank’s work and urged other organizations to also get involved in social work.
Likewise, immediate past chairman of the school management committee, Santosh Sah thanked the bank for accepting the school’s request and supporting the school. Chief of the education section of the municipality, Saroj Gautam, urged the students to devote some time to social service.
Patel, the principal of the school, said that the availability of sanitary pad machines will reduce the problem of girl students being absent from school during menstruation. On the occasion, the branch chief of the bank said that the bank is not only limited to financial transactions but is equally serious towards social responsibility. He has also urged the students to be aware of the possibility of fraud and to protect themselves from the possibility of fraud from digital technology.
Lumbini Bikas Bank currently has 89 branches and one extension counter in all seven provinces of the country.
