Kathmandu. The Special Provisions Ordinance on the Removal of Public Officials, 2083 has been promulgated. However, the post of governor and office-bearers of Nepal Rastra Bank and public sector banks has been reserved.
President Ram Chandra Poudel issued the ordinance on the recommendation of the government. The ordinance will amend 110 different laws.
Political appointments made in various bodies will be canceled. As per the decision, 1,594 office-bearers working on the basis of political appointment will be relieved of their posts.
However, the ordinance will not allow Nepal Rastra Bank and public sector banks to operate. The post of Governor Bishwanath Poudel has been saved after the NRB Act was not promulgated.
