Kathmandu. Citizens Bank International Limited (CZBIL) has received the ‘Bank of the Year 2024 – Nepal’ award from the prestigious UK-based financial publication ‘The Banker’. This is the first time in the bank’s history that the bank has won this prestigious international award.
The Banker’s award is based on the Bank’s outstanding financial performance, innovation and quality service delivery. The award was received by the bank’s Chairman Mr. Prabal Jung Pandey and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Ganesh Raj Pokharel.
In recent years, Citizens Bank has expanded its services and business by merging more than half a dozen financial institutions. The bank has been providing financial access to micro, small and corporate businesses, and has been making significant investments in renewable energy and large infrastructure projects.
After receiving the award, Chairman Prabal Jung Pandey expressed his confidence that the recognition would inspire to further strengthen the bank’s service delivery and further contribute to the development of the banking sector of Nepal. He said that this achievement is not only a success of Citizens Bank but of the entire Nepali banking system.
Similarly, CEO Ganesh Raj Pokharel remarked that the bank has been able to establish the identity of Nepal’s banking sector in the international arena by prioritizing customer centric services, financial innovation and good governance.
Bank of the Year Award has been given to the best commercial banks in more than 150 countries of the world for more than 25 years. The recognition bestowed by Citizens Bank has further strengthened the credibility, competitiveness and international image of the Nepalese banking industry.
