Kumari Bank provides financial support to Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre

Kathmandu. Kumari Bank Limited has provided financial support to Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre. Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the bank has provided Rs. 100,000 crore to Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre for strengthening Neonatal and Child Intensive Care (ICU) services. Rs 10 lakh has been provided.

The fund will be used for the management of essential health services and equipment, especially for the treatment of infants and children suffering from heart disease. Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre is one of the major specialized heart treatment centers in the country.

The Centre has been providing specialist health care services to economically poor, marginalized and vulnerable infants and children coming from different remote and backward areas of the country for treatment. The assistance has been provided to address the increasing patient pressure and the need for intensive care services.

Kumari Bank believes that healthcare is the fundamental right of every citizen and has been contributing towards expanding access to quality healthcare services to the economically and socially backward groups. The support is expected to improve the quality of treatment for newborns and children, increase survival rates and reduce health care inequities.

In line with the vision of ‘Kumari Bank for Community’, the bank has been conducting various CSR programs in the areas of education, health, financial literacy, environment conservation and community development.
