Kathmandu. All preparations for the third ‘Kitab Jatra’ to be held in the UK have been completed, according to the organizer of the Kitab Yatra Foundation. The event to be held at the Nepali Embassy in London on August 21 will include panel debates, reading of poems, award distribution and book exhibition.
According to Rishiram Adhikari, Chairperson of Kitab Yatra Foundation, the four-hour event is going to cover the literature, culture, lifestyle and business sectors of the Nepalis living in the UK. He also urged Nepali writers, cultural artists and entrepreneurs in the UK to participate in the programme.
Senior journalist Tikaram Yatri and writer Rabindra Samir have already reached the UK to participate in the festival. According to the organizers, the event will start at 2 pm.
Bhuwan Bhandari, secretary of the organizing committee of the book Jatra UK, said that this year’s event will be held in a grand and dignified manner compared to the previous editions. According to him, necessary preparations have been completed to make the programme systematic and effective.
Bhuvan Bhandari, who is also the Editor-in-Chief of Arthkhabar.com and Secretary of the Organizing Committee of Kitab Jatra UK Edition, said that the UK edition is organized every year in collaboration with Kitab Yatra.
Kitab Jatra started in Nepal in 2075 BS and has already been organized in India and America. In the UK, the Kitab Jatra was organized for the first time in 2023.
