Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has urged the general public to take special precaution against the possibility of fraud by using fake QR codes and fake bank accounts in the name of depositing money in the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund. The Payment Systems Department of the Rastra Bank has issued a public notice requesting this.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has requested the NRB to mandatorily verify that the name of the account is the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund while sending money through mobile banking, wallet, Connect IPS and other means.
Also, people have been urged to double-check the amount and account details before sending money, to use only the bank account details published on the official website of the Nepal Rastra Bank, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers or the Ministry of Finance, and not to use unauthorized QR codes circulated through social media, email and messaging apps.
