Kathmandu. Janautthan Community Microfinance has provided financial assistance to the flood-affected citizens. The microfinance company has provided financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the people affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa district recently.
Chairman of the Organization, Dr. Man Bahadur BK, Directors Yagya Bikram Shahi and Gururaj Baral handed over the cheque of the amount provided from the Corporate Social Responsibility Fund to Krishna Bahadur Raut, Secretary of the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security. On the occasion, they met Honorable Minister Sita Badi and informed her about the organization’s plan to hand over the amount and collect more relief.
Dr. Man Bahadur BK, President of the organization, said that the financial assistance has also been provided to the organization to support the efforts being run by the state for the relief, rescue and rehabilitation of the people affected by the floods in this difficult time of disaster. In this context, the organization has also decided to provide one day’s salary and allowances to its employees for the help of the flood affected people.
Arrangements have also been made to collect the necessary data to identify whether the members associated with the organization and their families have been affected, to facilitate in the search and rescue of the affected people and to collect funds from the members who want to voluntarily contribute relief money or kind through the concerned branch and send them to the affected areas.
Meanwhile, the organization has expressed heartfelt condolences to all the deceased who lost their lives in the floods and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family members. The organization has been conducting public awareness programs related to disaster management and social responsibility at the community level under its strategic plan. Acting Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Indra Barali, said that the organization, which has been providing financial and material relief assistance during disasters in the past, will continue such social and humanitarian works in the coming days as well.
