. Rohit Jain has been appointed as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). According to Indian media, he has been appointed to the post for a period of three years.

According to the RBI Act, 1934, there will be four deputy governors in the central bank.TAG_OPEN_p_7 Two will be from within the institution, one from the commercial banking sector and one will be an economist from the monetary policy department.
The other three current deputy governors are Swaminathan J, Poonam Gupta and S.C.TAG_OPEN_p_6 Murmu is there.
T Robbie Shankar was first appointed in September 2021 for a three TAG_OPEN_p_5-year term. His term was then extended for one year each in 2024 and again in 2025.
