Two arrested for stealing Rs 24.47 lakh from mobile banking using missing SIM card

Kathmandu. Police have arrested two persons on the charge of stealing mobile banking money by misusing their SIM cards. Police have arrested two persons on the charge of cheating people of Rs 24.47 lakh by misusing their SIM cards.

The arrested have been identified as Roshan Pahadi of Sindhuli and Subhash Ojha of Dadeldhura. Police arrested Pahadi from Sallaghari of Bhaktapur and Ojha from Ekantakuna of Lalitpur.

According to the police, a SIM card was issued in the name of the victim Kanchi Lama on September 18, 2013. When Lama opened her account at the then Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank (now Kumari Bank), she used the same mobile number to avail mobile banking facility.

However, his SIM card was found to have disappeared after about 6 years while he was using the same number. According to the police, the missing SIM card was taken by Roshan Pahadi. See also:
