Honorable Man Says Conflict of Interest Smells of Conflict of Interest, ‘Own’ Bank CEO Says ‘Bank CEO Should Not Be Disqualified in the Future’

Kathmandu. Bidushi Rana, a member of parliament inside the chairperson of Kumari Bank, said that no action should be taken against the CEO or director of the bank in the future. Rana said this in a meeting of the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives on Sunday after the Supreme Court (SC) disqualified Kumari Bank CEO Ram Chandra Khanal.

Lawmaker Rana warned that there could be a leadership crisis in the banking sector if a provision was made to disqualify the CEO or director of the bank on the basis of general disciplinary action or warning. However, the Supreme Court has already ruled accordingly.

“The NRB is only warning about normal natural action. No CEOs will come to work tomorrow after being told that the salary benefits will be withheld by a written warning or fine, and the director or CEO will be disqualified in the future. ” she said.

The parliament should look after the interest of the country and not only its own interest. However, to give the impression that the Supreme Court’s verdict may be wrong to protect Kumari Bank and its CEO Ram Chandra Khanal is not the right democracy.

The Supreme Court has disqualified the CEO of Kumari Bank from the post of Chief Executive Officer of Kumari Bank.
