Deposits of banks and financial institutions increased by 10.3 percent, deposits reached Rs 8.12 trillion.

Kathmandu. Deposits of banks and financial institutions increased by 10.3 percent. According to the data released by Nepal Rastra Bank, deposits of banks have increased by Rs 748.62 billion in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year.

In the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, deposits of banks and financial institutions have reached Rs 8.12 trillion.

Such deposits had increased by 8.0 percent (Rs 517.60 billion) in the same period of the previous year. On a year-on-year basis, deposits in banks and financial institutions increased by 15.0 percent in mid-June 2008.

Similarly, the share of current, savings and fixed deposits in the total deposits of banks and financial institutions stood at 6.9 percent, 46.6 percent and 37.3 percent respectively. Such shares were 5.7 percent, 36.2 percent and 50.2 percent respectively in the same period of the previous year.

The share of institutional deposits in the total deposits of banks and financial institutions stood at 33.7 percent as of mid-June 2008. The share of such deposits was 35.5 percent in mid-June 2008.
