Kathmandu. Nepal Infrastructure Bank (NIFRA) has published its fourth quarter report for the fiscal year 2082/83. The bank earned a net profit of Rs 98.73 crore in the fourth quarter. The profit was 19.98 percent lower than the corresponding period of the previous FY.
Last year, the bank had earned a net profit of Tk 1,234 crore.
The bank’s net interest income declined by 23.89 percent to Rs 1.44 billion in the review period. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 1.90 billion in the same period last year. However, net duty and commission income have increased significantly. Such income has reached Rs 5.80 crore till mid-July, compared to Rs 2.10 crore in the previous year.
The bank has a total operating income of Rs 1.50 billion and an operating profit of Rs 1.41 billion. In the previous year, these indices were Rs 1.92 billion and Rs 1.76 billion, respectively. The bank has paid-up capital of Rs 21.60 billion and reserve fund of Rs 3.71 billion.
The bank’s earnings per share (EPS) has also declined due to the decline in profit. EPS fell to Rs 4.57 from Rs 5.71 a year ago. The net worth per share has been set at Rs 117.22.
However, there has been an increase in both deposits and loans of banks. Deposits have increased by 1.94 per cent to Rs 7.83 billion while loan disbursement has increased by 25.96 per cent to Rs 31.42 billion. In the same period of the previous year, the bank’s deposit was Rs 7.68 billion and loan was Rs 24.94 billion.
