Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has urged the employees of merged banks not to discriminate. Nepal Rastra Bank has urged banks and financial institutions not to discriminate against employees who have been merged into the same institution after merger and acquisition.

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has warned the concerned institutions not to treat the employees who came through the merger process differently on the basis of which bank or financial institution they came from. The Rastra Bank has stressed on maintaining equality in facilities, responsibilities, opportunities and career development while managing employees after the merger.

Due to mergers and acquisitions in recent years with the aim of reducing the number of banks and financial institutions, employees from different former institutions are working in the same organization.

In such a situation, discrimination among employees on the basis of institutional background can affect the workplace environment and morale of employees, so equal treatment is necessary, according to the NRB.

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a ‘Risk Management Guideline, 2026’ for the licensed ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ class banks and financial institutions.
